Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), 32-28 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Bruce improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Trojans travel to Vardaman (Vardaman, MS) to meet the Rams in a non-league test on Friday, September 5. The Rams come into the test with a record of 0-1. Vardaman lost 49-3 in their recent non-league test against Nanih Waiya (Louisville, MS)

With the defeat, South Pontotoc drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Water Valley (Water Valley, MS) to meet the Blue Devils in a non-league test on Friday, September 5. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 1-0. Water Valley won 19-7 in their recent non-league test against Independence (Independence, MS)
