Sam Houston Texans (Arlington, TX) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Nimitz Vikings (Irving, TX), 28-14 in a non-league match.

The Texans (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Centennial (Burleson, TX). The Spartans come into the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Centennial was beaten by Burleson (Burleson, TX), 45-21, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Vikings confront the Paschal Panthers (Fort Worth, TX) in a non-league match, on Thursday, September 4. Nimitz will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers come into the match with a 1-0 record after their 20-14 non-league win over MacArthur (Irving, TX).
