Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, Covenant Day improves its record to 5-0 on the season. The Lions travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to face the Cougars in a non-league test on Wednesday, September 3. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 2-2.

The Cougars now own a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Forsyth Country Day for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 2. Cannon will face a Furies squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC). The Furies record now stands at 0-1.
