Match Summary
Greenwich and Bolton-Warrensburg met for a good early season test. The weather made things interesting as rain made the pitch muddy and slick. This surprisingly didn’t affect either defense much, but both offenses had a tough time getting a good strike on the ball in the final 3rd as the ball seemed to slip and slide to evade being hammered home through most of the match. The game was evenly played and Greenwich had a slight advantage in possession, but B-W kept searching for a chance. With 20 minutes remaining in the 2nd half, Greenwich was awarded their 5th corner of the night. This time Wyatt Skiff struck the ball and it seemed destined to land in the goal. Colin Traver crashed hard and made sure it went in. Scoring his first varsity goal as the senior captain of the defense. Greenwich 1 Bolton 0. Both sides continued to battle, but that was all it took as the hard fought game ended in the 1-0 victory for the Witches.
