In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Downers Grove South Mustangs volleyball squad scored a tight 2-1 win over the Lincoln-Way East Griffins.

With the win, Downers Grove South improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, IL) to face the Hilltoppers in a non-league test on Wednesday, September 3. The Hilltoppers go into the test with a record of 4-0. Glenbard West won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Lane Tech (Chicago, IL)

The Griffins now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hinsdale Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 30. Lincoln-Way East will play a Red Devils team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL). The Red Devils record now stands at 1-1.
