In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Carver Montgomery Wolverines football squad scored a decisive 39-6 triumph over the Percy Julian Phoenix.

The Wolverines (1-1) will now prepare for their match against JAG (Montgomery, AL). The Jaguars come into the 7A Region 2 match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, JAG was routed by Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville, AL), 54-0, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Phoenix meet the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs (Millbrook, AL) in a 6A Region 2 challenge, on Thursday, September 4. Percy Julian will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Mustangs go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 43-13 non-league loss to Prattville (Prattville, AL).
