In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Amherst County Lancers volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Nelson County Governors.

The Lancers (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Liberty Christian was edged by Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
