The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) and the host Peotone Blue Devils (Peotone, IL), saw Coal City's volleyball squad beat Peotone by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Coal City upgrades its record to 5-2 on the year. The Coalers travel to Glenbard North (Carol Stream, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, September 1. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 2-3. Glenbard North lost 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against Hoffman Estates (Hoffman Estates, IL)

The Blue Devils now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Lisle for a Illinois Central Eight bout on Tuesday, September 5. Peotone will play a Lions squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Lions record now stands at 2-7.
