September 10, 2024: East Providence, RI 02914 East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) backers exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team overwhelm the host Providence Country Day Knights (East Providence, RI), 12-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, East Providence advances its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Townies travel to Middletown (Middletown, RI) to clash with the Islanders in a Division 2 test on Thursday, September 12. The Islanders come into the test with a record of 2-1. Middletown won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Rogers (Newport, RI)
The Knights now have a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central for a Division 3 test on Friday, September 13. Providence Country Day will clash with a Knights team coming off a 2-2 non-league Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI). The Knights record now stands at 0-2.
