Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 1-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Polk County improves its record to 5-0 on the year. The Wolverines travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to play the Warhorses in a Western Highlands 2A/3A outing on Monday, September 15. The Warhorses go into the outing with a record of 4-2. Owen won 5-1 in their recent non-league outing against Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) in a non-league outing, on Wednesday, September 17. Asheville will attempt to improve on its 6-3 season record.
