North Carolina High School Soccer - Polk County nudges Owen

September 15, 2025: Black Mountain, NC 28711

Fans at Monday's league battle between the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) and the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), saw Polk County's soccer squad hold off Owen by a score of 2-1.

The Wolverines (6-0) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars enter the Western Highlands 2A/3A battle with a 2-7 record. In their last test, Mountain Heritage nipped Madison (Marshall, NC), 4-0, in a league test.

The Warhorses now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Avery County for a Western Highlands 2A/3A test on Wednesday, September 17. Owen will clash with a Vikings team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Madison (Marshall, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-7.
