In Wednesday's non-league match, the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) volleyball squad prevailed the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), by a final score of 3-0.

Next up, the Screaming Eagle confront the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a Carolina Coast 6A/7A match, on Thursday, September 11. Ashley will attempt to advance on its 9-5 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 3-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to Topsail (Hampstead, NC).

The Cougars (4-4) will now prepare for their bout against Whiteville (Whiteville, NC). The Wolfpack come into the Southeastern 3A/4A/5A bout with a 1-6 record. In their last bout, Whiteville was topped by West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC), 3-0, in a league bout.
