California High School Volleyball - Community Charter over Lake Balboa College Prep
September 10, 2025: Lakeview Terrace, CA 91342 The Community Charter Titans volleyball squad scored 3 points and held the visiting Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars to 1 in the Titans non-league win on Wednesday.
Next up, the Titans confront the CHAMPS Panthers (Van Nuys, CA) in a North Valley game, on Monday, September 15. Community Charter will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Panthers go into the game with a 0-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Monroe (North Hills, CA).
The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their game against Magnolia Science Academy Reseda (Reseda, CA). The Warriors go into the Central Valley game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, Magnolia Science Academy Reseda went down by Bert Corona Charter (Pacoima, CA), 3-0, in a non-league outing.
Match Summary
6 all to start, Community Charter took the lead 10-6. Lake Balboa fought back to make it 13 all before yielding to the Titans again 15-13. The Cougs clawed back to 15 all only to have CC open it up to 19-15. 6 to 6 sideout ball gave set 1 to Community Charter. The Lake Show was down but not out. After trading blows at 5 all, Lake Balboa pulled ahead 8-5. The Titans responded by making it 12-8. LBCP replied at 12 all before CC topped them again 13-12. Kennia Martinez Ayala's tough serving made it 16-13 for the teal & black. The battle continued to see-saw back & forth. 17-16 Titans, 18-17 Laketown, & 20-18 CC. Lake Balboa closed it up to 20-21 with Athena Orujyan armed & dangerous at the service line. The Cougars took the next 3 points to win the set. The Titans opened up at 6-1 then controlled set 3 at 15-7. Lake Balboa challenged at 18-20 but CC took the next 7 points to win. In set 4 7-7 blew up to 13-7 Titans. The Cougars closed to 13-14 but CC's 11-9 sideout ball won the match.
