In Thursday's league match, the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans (Morristown, TN) volleyball squad tipped the host Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes (Morristown, TN), by a count of 3-2.

Next up, the Trojans confront the Heritage Mountaineers (Maryville, TN) in a AAA District 2 match, on Tuesday, September 16. Morristown-Hamblen West will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record. The Mountaineers enter the match with a 14-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Cocke County (Newport, TN).

The Hurricanes (6-2) will now prepare for their match against Sevier County (Sevierville, TN). The Smoky Bears enter the AAA District 2 match with a 5-5 record. In their last match, Sevier County held off Greensboro (Greensboro, NC), 2-0, in a non-league bout.
