In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Tishomingo County Braves volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the South Pontotoc Cougars.

The Braves (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against New Albany (New Albany, MS). The Bulldogs come into the Class 4A Region 1 challenge with a 21-10 record. In their last challenge, New Albany was nudged by Tupelo (Tupelo, MS), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cougars play the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a Class 4A Region 1 test, on Tuesday, September 16. South Pontotoc will attempt to advance on its 8-13 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 22-10 record after their 3-0 league win over Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS).
