September 12, 2023: Orlando, FL 32833 University Cougars (Orlando, FL) supporters left the game in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host East River Falcons (Orlando, FL), 2-1 in a non-league match.
Next up, the Cougars clash with the Timber Creek Wolves (Orlando, FL) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, September 26. University will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Wolves come into the match with a 1-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Windermere (Windermere, FL).
With the loss, East River drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Satellite (Satellite Beach, FL) to clash with the Scorpions in a non-league match on Wednesday, September 27. The Scorpions come into the match with a record of 7-0.
Match Summary
It was a gripping match between the UHS Lady Cougars and the East River Lady Falcons. UHS took the win in the first set, beating the Falcons 15-9. They spent most of the 2nd set behind, but forced the score to 17-15, narrowly being beaten in that set. The third and final set was another tight set, but the Cougars pulled out a 10-8 victory.
