Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) supporters were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA) in a WPIAL AAA 2 challenge, on Thursday, September 14. Montour will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 6-0 league win over Ambridge (Ambridge, PA).

The Lions now possess a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Chartiers Valley for a WPIAL AAA 2 challenge on Tuesday, September 19.
