September 12, 2024: Elkin, NC 28621 Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Elkin improves its record to 2-10 on the season. The Buckin' Elks travel to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC) to face the Eagles in a non-league test on Monday, September 16. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 5-6. Wilkes Central lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
The Granite Bears now own a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Surry for a non-league test on Monday, September 16. Mount Airy will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 8-3.
