Arizona High School Football - La Joya Community defeats Copper Canyon

September 12, 2025: Glendale, AZ 85305

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ) and the host Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ), witnessed La Joya Community's football squad topple Copper Canyon by a tally of 18-9.

The Fighting Lobos (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Tempe (Tempe, AZ). The Buffaloes go into the non-league bout with a 2-1 record. In their last bout, Tempe was topped by Flagstaff (Flagstaff, AZ), 48-12, in a non-league bout.

The Aztecs now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Pueblo for a non-league bout on Friday, September 19. Copper Canyon will encounter a Warriors team coming off a 20-14 non-league loss to Douglas (Douglas, AZ). The Warriors record now stands at 0-3.
