Texas High School Football - Porter thwarted by Dayton

September 12, 2025: Dayton, TX 77535

Dayton Broncos (Dayton, TX) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Porter Spartans (Porter, TX), 35-14 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Dayton advances its record to 3-0 on the season. The Broncos host Montgomery (Montgomery, TX) to confront the Bears in a 5A-2 Region II District 8 match on Friday, September 26. The Bears come into the match with a record of 2-1. Montgomery won 48-0 in their recent non-league test against Elgin (Elgin, TX)

With the defeat, Porter drops to 2-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Angleton (Angleton, TX) to meet the Wildcats in a 5A-1 Region III District 11 test on Friday, September 26. The Wildcats go into the challenge with a record of 3-0. Angleton won 59-14 in their recent non-league challenge against Foster (Richmond, TX)
