The Thurston Eagles football team scored 56 points and held the host Melvindale Cardinals to 8 in the Eagles league victory on Friday.

In their next game, the Eagles face the Annapolis Cougars (Dearborn Heights, MI) in a Western Wayne challenge, on Friday, September 19. Thurston will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 41-0 league loss to Crestwood (Dearborn Heights, MI).

The Cardinals (0-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Romulus (Romulus, MI). The Eagles enter the Western Wayne challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, Romulus was overwhelmed by Robichaud (Dearborn Heights, MI), 20-12, in a league test.
