In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Purnell Swett Rams football squad scored a close 14-12 victory over the Red Springs Red Devils.

The Rams (2-2) will now prepare for their match against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league match with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, South Brunswick nudged Richlands (Richlands, NC), 28-7, in a non-league battle.

The Red Devils now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Douglas Byrd for a non-league battle on Friday, September 19. Red Springs will play a Eagles team coming off a 51-7 non-league loss to Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-4.
