Texas High School Volleyball - Nixon-Smiley overwhelmed by Gonzales
September 12, 2025: Nixon, TX 78140 The Gonzales Apaches topped the host Nixon-Smiley Mustangs volleyball team by a margin of 3-0 in Friday's non-league outing.
The Apaches now possess a 4-15 record. They play next when they travel to Flatonia for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 16. Gonzales will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Round Top-Carmine (Carmine, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-18.
With the loss, Nixon-Smiley drops to 9-12 on the season. The Mustangs host McMullen County (Tilden, TX) to confront the Cowboys in a non-league game on Tuesday, September 16. The Cowboys go into the game with a record of 20-11. McMullen County won 3-0 in their recent non-league game against Refugio (Refugio, TX)
