West Virginia High School Football - Nicholas County thwarted by Independence
September 13, 2024: Summersville, WV 26651 Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV), 41-14 in a league battle.
With the win, Independence improves its record to 2-1 on the season. The Patriots host Scott (Madison, WV) to play the Skyhawks in a non-league battle on Friday, September 20. The Skyhawks go into the battle with a record of 1-1. Scott won 53-0 in their recent league battle against Sissonville (Charleston, WV)
The Grizzlies now have a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league battle on Friday, September 20. Nicholas County will play a Cougars team coming off a 35-26 league win over Grafton (Grafton, WV). The Cougars record now stands at 1-2.
