The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Oak Hill Red Devils (Oak Hill, WV) and the host Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), witnessed Oak Hill's football squad edge Independence by a count of 21-20.

The Red Devils (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Spartans enter the Coalfield AA contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Greenbrier East got by Shady Spring (Shady Spring, WV), 34-21, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Patriots confront the WestSide Renegades (Clear Fork, WV) in a Coalfield AA contest, on Friday, October 11. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record.
