In Friday's league match, the visiting Lackey Chargers football squad scored a close 31-28 triumph over the Northern Patriots.

The Chargers (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Patuxent (Lusby, MD). The Panthers come into the Southern Maryland match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Patuxent tipped McDonough (Pomfret, MD), 56-6, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Patriots confront the La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD) in a Southern Maryland match, on Friday, September 20. Northern will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Warriors come into the match with a 0-2 record after their 43-6 league loss to Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD).
