The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) and the visiting Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD), witnessed Northern's football squad edge Great Mills by a tally of 28-22.

The Patriots (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Leonardtown (Leonardtown, MD). The Raiders enter the Southern Maryland contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Leonardtown was nudged by Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD), 35-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Hornets battle the Patuxent Panthers (Lusby, MD) in a Southern Maryland contest, on Thursday, October 10. Great Mills will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Panthers enter the contest with a 5-0 record after their 63-6 league win over Chopticon (Morganza, MD).
