In Thursday's non-league contest, the Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) volleyball squad edged the visiting Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Trojans battle the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 19. Alleghany will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Granite Bears come into the contest with a 0-10 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Elkin (Elkin, NC).
