North Carolina High School Volleyball - Madison tips Avery County

September 14, 2023: Marshall, NC 28753

The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) and the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), saw Madison's volleyball squad nip Avery County by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Madison upgrades its record to 5-5 on the year. The Patriots travel to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a Western Highlands 1A/2A bout on Tuesday, September 19. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-4.

The Vikings now own a 2-9 record. They play next when they travel to Owen for a Western Highlands 1A/2A bout on Tuesday, September 19. Avery County will play a Warhorses squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 6-4.
