The Johnson County Central Thunderbirds held off the host Southern Raiders volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Weeping Water for a non-league contest on Tuesday, September 28.

With the loss, Southern drops to 4-8 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Sacred Heart (Falls City, NE) to battle the Irish in a non-league contest on Tuesday, September 21. The Irish come into the contest with a record of 13-1. Sacred Heart won 2-0 in their recent non-league contest against Exeter-Milligan (Exeter, NE)
