In Friday's league game, the Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC) football team tipped the visiting Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC), by a final score of 43-40.

The Mustangs (3-2) will now prepare for their game against North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Knights come into the 3A West Conference 54 game with a 2-2 record. In their last game, North Henderson was tipped by West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC), 44-14, in a league game.

The Bears now hold a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to David Crockett for a non-league game on Friday, September 23. Pisgah will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 34-10 league loss to Tennessee (Bristol, TN). The Pioneers record now stands at 2-3.
