September 16, 2025: Ewing, VA 24248 Washburn Pirates (Washburn, TN) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Washburn upgrades its record to 2-8 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Hancock County (Sneedville, TN) to meet the Indians in a challenge on Thursday, September 18. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Hancock County lost 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Eagleton College & Career Academy (Maryville, TN)
In their next game, the Pioneers face the J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA) in a non-league test, on Thursday, September 18. Thomas Walker will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record.
