The Trojans (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hazel Green (Hazel Green, AL). The Trojans come into the 6A Region 8 challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Hazel Green was beaten by Cullman (Cullman, AL), 29-21, in a league challenge.
The Golden Eagles now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hueytown for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 24. Athens will meet a Golden Gophers team coming off a 38-30 league win over Hillcrest (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Golden Gophers record now stands at 4-1.
