In Friday's non-league game, the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) football team knocked off the visiting Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC), by a score of 25-14.

The Pirates (3-0) will now prepare for their game against Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks come into the 4A West Conference 58 game with a 3-1 record. In their last game, Marvin Ridge toppled Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 42-8, in a non-league game.

The Knights now sport a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Myers Park for a 4A West Conference 49 game on Friday, October 1.
