In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Saegertown Panthers football squad scored a close 21-14 victory over the Union City Bears.

The Panthers (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Mercer (Mercer, PA). The Mustangs enter the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Mercer was nudged by Greenville (Greenville, PA), 49-13, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Bears confront the Eisenhower Knights (Russell, PA) in a District 10 Region 3 match, on Friday, September 27. Union City will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 3-2 record after their 27-0 non-league win over Cochranton (Cochranton, PA).
