Covington Lions (Covington, LA) followers left the game satisfied Friday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Covington advances its record to 6-8 on the season. The Lions host Newman (New Orleans, LA) to face the Greenies in a non-league test on Friday, September 20. The Greenies go into the test with a record of 3-2. Newman lost 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Hahnville (Boutte, LA)

The Yellow Jackets now sport a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Ouachita for a non-league test on Saturday, September 21. Byrd will face a Chiefs squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA). The Chiefs record now stands at 4-6.
