The crowd at Friday's non-league test between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), saw Independence's soccer squad knock off South Mecklenburg by a margin of 3-1.

The Patriots now sport a 7-3 record. They play next when they travel to Providence for a Southwestern 4A test on Monday, September 25. Independence will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 2-6.
