Illinois High School Volleyball - Mercer County can't hold off Monmouth United

The Monmouth United Red Storm tipped the visiting Mercer County Golden Eagles volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Monday's non-league outing.

The Red Storm now possess a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Princeville for a Lincoln Trail outing on Wednesday, September 24. Monmouth United will clash with a Princes team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Stark County (Toulon, IL). The Princes record now stands at 5-14.

With the loss, Mercer County drops to 8-11 on the year. The Golden eagles host Sherrard (Sherrard, IL) to confront the Tigers in a Three Rivers match on Tuesday, September 23. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 13-2. Sherrard lost 2-1 in their recent non-league match against Alleman (Rock Island, IL)
