The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Hillcrest Patriots (Tuscaloosa, AL) and the visiting Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL), saw Hillcrest's volleyball squad nip Shades Valley by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Hillcrest upgrades its record to 10-11 on the year. The Patriots travel to Houston (Germantown, TN) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Saturday, September 23. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Houston won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Decatur (Decatur, AL)

The Mounties now own a 7-13 record. They play next when they host Mountain Brook for a 6A Area 10 bout on Tuesday, September 26. Shades Valley will play a Spartans squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Huntsville (Huntsville, AL). The Spartans record now stands at 24-4.
