Northwest Whitfield Bruins (Tunnel Hill, GA) boosters were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Bruins (21-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Ridgeland (Rossville, GA). The Panthers come into the 3A Area 7 challenge with a 2-20 record. In their last challenge, Ridgeland was beaten by Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bobcats meet the Ridgeland Panthers (Rossville, GA) in a 3A Area 7 test, on Tuesday, September 23. Gilmer will attempt to advance on its 10-19 season record. The Panthers go into the test with a 2-20 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA).
