Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Red Devils confront the Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio challenge, on Tuesday, September 27. Murphysboro will attempt to move on its 13-3 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL).

The Terriers now possess a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Centralia for a South Seven challenge on Monday, September 26. Carbondale will confront a Orphans team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Teutopolis (Teutopolis, IL). The Orphans record now stands at 5-7.
