In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Maize South Mavericks.

The Saints (13-2) will now prepare for their challenge against St. James Academy (Lenexa, KS). The Thunder go into the Eastern Kansas test with a 15-5 record. In their last test, St. James Academy achieved victory over Great Bend (Great Bend, KS), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Mavericks now own a 17-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bishop Carroll for a non-league test on Saturday, September 27. Maize South will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 2-0 league win over South (Wichita, KS). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 17-0.
