In Friday's league match, the host Dripping Springs Tigers football squad scored a decisive 63-0 win over the Akins Eagles.

With the win, Dripping Springs improves its record to 5-0 on the season. The Tigers travel to Austin (Austin, TX) to play the Maroons in a 6A Region IV District 26 battle on Thursday, October 2. The Maroons go into the battle with a record of 1-4. Austin won 35-7 in their recent league battle against Del Valle (Del Valle, TX)

The Eagles now have a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Westlake for a 6A Region IV District 26 battle on Thursday, October 2. Akins will play a Chaparrals team coming off a 37-14 non-league win over Steele (Cibolo, TX). The Chaparrals record now stands at 3-1.
