The Wayne Pioneers football team (Wayne, WV), was topped 40-20 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Sherman Tide (Seth, WV)

With the win, Sherman advances its record to 4-1 on the season. The Tide travel to Man (Man, WV) to encounter the Hillbillies in a Coalfield AA contest on Friday, October 3. The Hillbillies enter the contest with a record of 2-3. Man won 20-0 in their recent non-league contest against Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV)

Coming up next, the Pioneers confront the Lincoln County Panthers (Hamlin, WV) in a Cardinal contest, on Friday, October 3. Wayne will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Panthers enter the contest with a 0-4 record after their 35-0 non-league loss to Brooke (Wellsburg, WV).
