September 27, 2024: Mason City, IA 50401 Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings (Decorah, IA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Mason City Mohawks (Mason City, IA), 41-7 in a league battle.
With the win, Decorah-North Winneshiek improves its record to 5-0 on the season. The Vikings host Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA) to play the Go-Hawks in a 4A District 2 battle on Friday, October 4. The Go-Hawks go into the battle with a record of 3-2. Waverly-Shell Rock won 25-6 in their recent league battle against Western Dubuque (Epworth, IA)
The Mohawks now have a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Waterloo East for a 4A District 2 battle on Friday, October 4. Mason City will play a Trojans team coming off a 31-7 league loss to Marion (Marion, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 1-4.
