Missouri High School Volleyball - Rock Bridge can't hold off Helias

The Rock Bridge Bruins volleyball team (Columbia, MO), was edged 2-1 in Wednesday's league challenge with the visiting Helias Crusaders (Jefferson City, MO)

The Crusaders (16-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Joseph's Academy (St. Louis, MO). The Angels come into the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

Match Summary

The Helias Lady Sader's Freshmen Volleyball team traveled to Columbia to play an away match against the Rock Bridge Lady Bruins. Helias going into the match had a record of 15-1 with their only loss on the season going to the Lady Bruins in the Championship of the Helias 9th Home Volleyball Tourney. Rock Bridge was also still undefeated on the season going into the match. Helias would strike first taking set one 25-15, much easier than expected, scoring 15 points off serve with 1 Ace. Set two would go to Rock Bridge 25-22 in a closed battle that went back & forth. In set three Helias would start slow and build momentum throughout the game to take the set 25-18 for the Match Victory over a very good Lady Bruins team. Also giving the Lady Bruins freshmen their first loss on the season. Timely Attacks, Blocks & Serves with relentless defense would see Helias captured a win over the only the team they had a loss to on the season. Helias now has a 16-1 match record.
