The Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC) football edged the visiting Concord Spiders (Concord, NC), 12-9 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) in a South Piedmont 3A bout, on Friday, October 6. Carson will attempt to advance on its 2-4 season record. The Trojans enter the bout with a 6-0 record after their 49-9 league win over West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC).

The Spiders (4-2) will now prepare for their bout against South Rowan (China Grove, NC). The Raiders enter the South Piedmont 3A bout with a 2-4 record. In their last bout, South Rowan nudged Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC), 29-26, in a league bout.
