Virginia High School Volleyball - Gretna over Nelson County
September 30, 2025: Lovingston, VA 22949 Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) and the host Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), saw Gretna's volleyball squad notch a victory over Nelson County by a score of 3-0.
With the win, Gretna improves its record to 9-3 on the season. The Hawks host Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy (Moneta, VA) to meet the Ospreys in a Dogwood contest on Thursday, October 2. The Ospreys enter the contest with a record of 0-6. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Dan River (Ringgold, VA)
Next, the Governors meet the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) in a Dogwood challenge, on Thursday, October 2. Nelson County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).
