The Salem Spartans got by the host Franklin County Eagles football team by a score of 18-14 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans play the Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 11. Salem will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Colonels go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 28-14 non-league win over Heritage (Lynchburg, VA).

The Eagles (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA). The Patriots come into the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Patrick Henry tipped Glass (Lynchburg, VA), 35-8, in a non-league test.
