Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), 3-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Monroe advances its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Redhawks host Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a Rocky River 4A/5A test on Monday, September 8. The Yellow Jackets go into the outing with a record of 1-6. Forest Hills lost 2-1 in their recent non-league outing against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

Next up, the Lions play the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) in a Meck Power Six 7A/8A outing, on Tuesday, September 9. West Charlotte will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Patriots go into the outing with a 3-3 record after their 6-0 non-league win over Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC).
